A long post about three months' worth of mass shootings
I wrote up a list of all the mass shootings that had happened in January, February and March of this year, and posted it to Facebook. Each event had a brief write-up from whatever news source I could find. Following the list are a bunch of words about the results of posting the list to Facebook, trends noticed, and a brief bit about what it's like, emotionally, to actually compile that list.

Another posted about *their* huge tax bill and how they were going to have to go on a payment plan. Then a third was trying to figure out their retirement options. My book Handle Your Business is for them, and if you run (or want to run) a small business, it's for you too.

Composer's Sketchpad
Composer's Sketchpad is an iPad sequencer-ish app for quickly jotting down musical ideas. In brief, the app presents you with a giant pannable and zoomable canvas that you can draw musical notes on. I wanted to create a modern take on sheet music, but without any of the legacy limitations; as a result, you can start each note at any time and bend it to any pitch, giving you the ability sketch out expressive solos and complex rhythms with no extra effort. (You can also turn on time or pitch snapping if you like.) Navigation, editing, and playback are carefully designed to be as frictionless as possible, and over 100 different instruments (as well as a percussion set) are available. Your music is saved automatically without any limit on the total number of sketches. Apple Pencil supported!

Explaining Einstein's General Relativity on its 100th Anniversary, with the BBC
It's the 100th anniversary of Einstein's theory of General Relativity! The BBC recorded a conversation with me about Einstein's ideas, and they turned that recording into a short animated video. If you want to know more about general relativity, then (in my extremely biased opinion), this is a simple and fast explanation of the basic idea. (Also, I do not own the shirt that my animated avatar is wearing, but I wish I did.)

My short, sorry stint in SEO was the strangest job I've ever had. I was asked to create hundreds of imaginary webmasters and write little "About Me" biographies of their lives for fake blogs that only Google's webcrawlers were meant to read. They gave me the site name, I wrote the bio, and a coworker added manipulated photos. I did this for many months. I began to get bored... and then I began to get weird.
