Two Asians talk about all of this shit.
Race Invaders is a podcast hosted by myself and my friend Tim Yang, in which we discuss social justice, politics, culture, and probably more geek shit than is necessary, but we like it.

As of the latest episode, 16 strong and going, so there's some backlog if you're interested. The first episodes are rough, but we were learning from scratch. The later episodes might also be rough, but I hope they're better.

We were real happy about it when we came up with it, more so when we discovered no one else had taken it.

Also, I didn't want to put this in the body of the post, but if you're so inclined, we also have a Patreon.

I've been listening to this from the get go, and I'm really enjoying it. Nice production, some really great deeps dives into issues. And it's developing in style and quality rapidly.

Do you have a favourite episode that you'd suggest starting with? (I liked Bob Mortimer's approach with his podcast where he said "Episodes 1-9 was us finding our feet- newbies may want to start at Episode 10" (or words to that effect). Meant I could evaluate if pod was for me, and if it really clicked I could go back to the more unpolished ones. At work but downloading an episode for my commute and looking forward to it.

But I love all my children. Ok, here's a few suggestions:

Episode 4: The Model Minority Myth - we talk about Asian-American stereotypes and some of the lesser-known realities of Asian immigration history.

Episode 6: Heroes - a personal one for me, as I say goodbye to a local Seattle activist whom I had the pleasure of knowing for a few years, and we talk about some other social justice people we look up to.

Episode 9 : Appropriation - pretty much what it says on the tin; as of this writing, our most popular episode.

Episode 11: Brain Games - we talk about mental health and I talk way too much about me and my dumb issues.

Episode 15: The Economics of Racism - tackling the common refrain of whether class or race matter more (spoilers: they both matter) and how they intertwine.

I'm stuck at ep 12, because I have to watch Luke Cage first. Which means I have to watch Jessica Jones before that.

I thought the same thing, but I found it wasn't really necessary, aside from a couple background plot points. They're both good, though.

Ok, now working my way up past 12, and really enjoying it.
Thank you for doing this.

The most recent episode of Race Invaders may interest some people here especially, as I interview once and hopefully future MeFite maxsparber about Jewish culture and antisemitism. https://raceinvaders.org/2017/03/02/episode-22-mazel-tov-cocktail/
