Drew's Infinite Reboot
Inspired by Metafilter's reaction to the reboot of the DC Universe, I've decided to spend my free braintime this summer rebooting my own version of the DC comics universe. I can't promise it will be any better than the "official" reboot. I mean, I'm no Bob Harras after all!

Without a Net: Librarians Bridging the Digital Divide
I wrote a book! It's at the printers. I made a website for it that contains the appendix, some supporting information/handouts/links and some other stuff. I used the INFLUX one-pager design (thanks ArcAm) and then I tampered with it. It's fine if you don't buy it. I'm just so happy it's finished.

The On-Line Blog of Integer Sequences
I'm a big fan of recreational mathematics. I would, from time to time, poke around The On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences and be startled both by the sheer volume of it, and also by the nuggets of deeply interesting sequences I would occasionally find. After a year of dithering, I've finally started keeping a blog discussing (in brief detail) interesting sequences found therein.

Trexels - Star Trek pixel art
A limited edition print featuring 235 Star Trek characters rendered as pixels, made with the support of Koyama Press. The print debuts at MoCCA this weekend, after which it will be sold online. In the meantime, KP and I are giving away 2 copies to whomever can name the most characters.

The New Books Network
The "New Books Network" is a consortium of 70 podcast channels. Each channel is devoted to a particular field (history, biology, literature, law, etc.), hosted by an expert in that field, and features hour-long interviews with the authors of new books in that field. The podcasts are free and available on the "New Books" channels, by RSS, and on iTunes. We are seeking people who would like to participate in the project, both as hosts and editors. Those interested should contact Marshall Poe at marshallpoe@gmail.com. For those who have written or would like to recommend a book to be featured on a "New Books" channel, we also welcome pitches.

Wanderlust, an experimental mobile storytelling platform
Wanderlust is a new way to tell location-based stories on smartphones from Six to Start. Instead of readers having to be in specific physical locations (like setting a Sherlock Holmes story in Baker Street, London), Wanderlust sets stories in classes of location. Act 1 might be in any cafe in the world, Act 2 in any museum, Act 3 in any bar. It's more like atmosphere-based storytelling.

Collaborative Jukebox
As promised, I have made available the source code for my Collaborative Jukebox project. This code will run a social website where visitors can upload music from their computer into a shared queue, which is then played in order for everyone at the same time.

A modern Markov chain chatbot
It's never too soon for more Markov chains, right? cobe is a Markov based text generation framework that behaves like the venerable MegaHAL chatbot, backed with a more modern (SQLite) datastore. Its brain is kept entirely on disk, uses little memory, and scales reliably. A very minimal IRC client is included.

Gamefilter dot net
"So," I asks myself, "self: does the world need a Metafilter-like site dedicated to gaming?" The answer I got back was "Hell, yeah!" and Gamefilter is the result. It's the newest site in the burgeoning network of MefightClub websites, ripped off from inspired by Metafilter and fitting somewhere in between our more chatty private forum and the more long-form Full Glass Empty Clip group blog. You don't need to be a Mefight Club member to join in; registration is open to all.

Tens of Dollars
This is a music video I directed about a bank robber who falls in love with the beautiful teller he tries to rob. Would love to hear your brutal opinion. Thanks.

Start to Finish, A Metafilter Music Podcast
I've been listening to the songs on Metafilter Music - all the songs! - from the very beginning. On weekday mornings, I'll add a song I like. It's a song of the day podcast. The most popular tags for the music I like so far: electronic, pop, dance, ambient, rock, electronica, synth, techno, instrumental, & indie.

Twittov: Nonsense generator
Twittov generates nonsense from your Twitter history using Markov chains. Note: Your tweets must be public for it to work. I posted this as a python script a year ago, but it's totally rewritten for the new Twitter API and has a Django/jQuery interface.

The Life of a Book
I created a slide show to describe how books are made from my perspective as an editor. The slide show is made up of doodles that I drew during several of the many, many meetings an editor goes to each week.

The Dow Piano
Stock trades determine the songwriting in this audiovisual presentation, translating the ups and downs of 2010 into musical notes. Using a five-note scale spanning three octaves, pitch is determined by the daily closing numbers of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
