Mk Mrc Grt Gn! A Disemvoweling Twitter Bot
Inspired by a tweet from (metafilter's own) Maciej Cegłowski, I made a dumb Twitter bot using Glitch one night that disemvowels 45's mouthspew on Twitter as if he were a dumb troll trying his best to annoy the mods. The resulting tweets are collected at @Dsmvwld_PTS.

"Radical Technologies: The Design of Everyday Life"
It is with the greatest pleasure that I share with you Radical Technologies, the book referred to here, and for so much of which I'm indebted to conversations that have happened here.

I trained an A.I. to Ask Metafilter...
Last time, I trained an LSTM neural network to generate British placenames. This time, I trained one on Ask Metafilter questions to see if the questions it generated might tell us anything about humanity. (Spoilers: yes, of course it did).

AI Generated Movie Posters
I built this website to generate movie posters using a neural network. The titles and tag-lines are generated by the AI, everything else is somewhat designed and randomized. Super random, so occasionally offensive.

More cowbell
Yet another 0.999/1.000/1.001 phase music thingumy. For reasons unknown this comment popped into my mind today, and having some spare time, I did the next best thing.

3 Generations of Tools, Photographed
I'm a third generation stagehand. My father and grandfather were both theatrical carpenters, and my father is also an antique tool collector. Many of the images are literally the drawers out of his roadbox and various tool chests at his home, others are some of my favorite pieces of his. I've been posting them with my recollections of a lifetime with these tools, or with stories from my father or grandfather.

I say Moo! You say Party!
moo.party is a pure-Javascript website allowing you to script monologues and dialogues between ASCII-art cows. It was inspired by a combination of Tony Monroe's cowsay program and .party domains going for under three bucks. It is part of my ongoing campaign to increase the amount of silliness on the Internet.

I've been photographing everyone at my workplace. I have one light, a grey wall, and about 5 minutes per person.

Hyrule map projections
Assuming the NES view of Hyrule is plate carrée, how might it look under other projections? Fortunately, I just saw a talk by Rob Simmon (which has corresponding detailed articles) about how to use these gdalwarp (one of a set of powerful geospatial tools provided by GDAL) to find out!

LinkedIn Thought Leadership Generator
I was interested in learning jquery at the same time I was feeling kind of irritated with all the 'thought leadership' articles flooding LinkedIn. So I made a generator that gives anyone industry influencer-level article ideas.

Will It Skillet?: 53 Irresistible and Unexpected Recipes to Make in a Cast-Iron Skillet
I'm happy to announce that my first book — "Will It Waffle?" — has a follow-up: "Will It Skillet?" I've gone from waffle iron to cast iron. MeFites have been supportive of my first book since well before it was even a book. What can I say? I hope that people like the second book, too.

Amen break for half an hour at 99.9% 100 %, and 100.1% speed
In The Air Tonight drum fill for 1 hour 10 minutes except it's tripled and one is played .1% faster and one is played .1% slower got a good reception when it got posted to the Blue a few days back, so I did the same thing with the Amen Break. I think it works.

Free fonts from the 90s!
A couple decades ago -- 1996, to be exact -- I tried to design some fonts. I've finally gotten around to recovering them and converting them to modern font formats. So for the enjoyment or abuse of your next print or onscreen project, here are some totally free typeface downloads.
