Money Magnet personal finance blog

I've helped put together a blog on personal finance. It's written by Andrew Reeves, a 28-year-old retired multimillionaire wunderkind who may or may not exist. [more inside]

Dinosaurs!WTF?

This is my blog covering the Conservative Dinosaur Readiness Movement. It is a satirical blog about a right wing survivalist group that is paranoid that dinosaurs are going to return somehow and conquer earth. While it is satire, I also try to incorporate good science when I can, I interview legit people in the paleontology field such as Kirk Johnson and Peter Larson. [more inside]

LitKit: A Curated Index of the Literary Blogosphere

Even in the midst of some technological turbulence (see also: “blogging is dead,” “Google Reader is gone“) there remains a vibrant and enjoyable literary blogosphere. You can still subscribe to a huge number of blogs and join the conversation. I’ve created a tool to help make it easy to do this, so you can get back to reading and posting. Using Silliman’s Blogroll as a starting point, I’ve created an OPML file. This file is a big list of all the RSS feeds of all the blogs on Silliman’s list. The file is designed to be imported into your blog reader of choice. Since Google Reader isn’t around anymore, I recommend Feedly (my current favorite) or Digg Reader (also very good).

F*** Yeah Greenhouses!

Due to a relatively recent increase in my obsession with plants, during which I have accumulated enough houseplants that I need a spreadsheet to keep track of them, I decided to start a blog devoted to the darn things. Or, more specifically, to the custom-made areas dedicated to their growth. [more inside]

Ever Upward - blogging about Space for Tor.com

Since early this year, I've been writing periodically about the science and engineering details behind current and upcoming NASA missions; most recently, I've posted a 27-page comic about a trip I made to the Kennedy Space Center to watch a satellite launch. There's an enormous amount of exciting work being done right now, and I'm doing my best to give a small cross-section of it a little more attention. [more inside]

Houghton Library Tumblr

We're constantly digitizing new material at my library, which is Harvard's largest for rare books and manuscripts. I post about larger collections on our blog, but I wanted to have a place to put interesting single images as well. Right now, I plan on posting one new item per day. Each image links to the record in our online catalog, for anyone who wants to know more about the source or come in to see it in person.

Waeguk.in

Waeguk-in is (a romanization of) the Korean expression that means 'foreigner,' and that's what I am. The site is Wonderchicken Industries™ newest entry into Korea blogging for fun and no profit whatsoever. I've dismantled my old neglected Korea-focused site and built a shiny new one devoted more to fun and interesting Korea-related stuff and less to turgid essays. If you're interested in Korea, come and have a look, or just follow @iamthewaegukin for updates. [more inside]

You've Got Mail: letters at Houghton Library

I'm one of the contributors to the blog of Houghton Library, Harvard's primary repository for rare books and manuscripts. This year we've inaugurated a new feature called You've Got Mail, which highlights a letter from Houghton's collections every Friday. Posts so far have included letters from Ben Franklin, Herman Melville, Rene Descartes, and the conjoined twins Chang and Eng.

Your Hipster Meme Is Completely F---ing Played Out

My attempt to turn some of the existing LOLHIPSTERS sites on their ear by way of deconstruction. At least, that's the highbrow explanation. At the very least, I want to satirize the mocking of my hipster brethren around the world.
