Infinite Adversaries: a fighting game generated and narrated by ChatGPT
Inspired by the "Choose Your Own Adventure" book series, Infinite Adversaries asks ChatGPT to generate perpetual, randomized encounters, pitting you against a never-ending army of imaginary enemies. You're given an option of weapons, and from there ChatGPT imagines an adversary, location, and a set of possible actions (along with their outcomes). As you decide what to do, ChatGPT narrates the results. If you survive, your prize is another adversary.

I've had a lot of fun making this, watching how ChatGPT responds to various tweaks to my prompts. The game mechanics are... fine. But I find it more fun to read what ChatGPT comes up with, in terms of narration. I loved the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books as a kid, and wanted to invoke a bit of that excitement (and a little whimsy).

Also, felt like a fun thing to try to turn an AI into a storyteller.

Almost forgot: each encounter is also illustrated by an image from DALL-E (the prompt is actually generated by ChatGPT).

Sorry I don't have anything to say about the game itself, but I love the infinity loading icon!

Have you looked at the Kandinsky model for image gen? I've had results almost as good as Midjourney at times (and way better than my experiences with Stable Diffusion and DALL-E 2), plus it's open-source with an API. I've been playing with it a fair bit in recent days.

In my day job I'm doing a fair bit of prompt engineering, so I love to see stuff like this. Especially since I'm a retro-nerd and this is very Zork-like.

This is neat! Well done!

It's a little like AI Dungeon, but your interface is WAAAY better, and breaking it down to an easy click is a very good idea!
