The worst-quality photo sharing site on the internet - each image is compressed down to 1KB or less. It uses the browser's own JPEG encoder, so results can vary quite a lot (Firefox tends to end up a lot sharper than Chrome, with Safari somewhere in the middle).

That's my fuzzy jam! A few years ago, a reader complained that the text-blocks of my blog were a bit dense. So I started to add at least one embedded picture. But I used to connect to the internet over a 300 baud acoustic coupler which set my clock on bandwidth. I reduce the size of my embedded pics with IrfanView but rarely crank it below 10Kb. With Kilogram, I can have a daily what-the-heck-is-that? challenge to enhance the reading experience.

The ultra-rare and elusive eponysterical Metafilter Project.

Ha! I didn't even notice it over here, saw waxy mention it somewhere yesterday. I've used my emeritus mod powers to link it up after the fact now.
