This is my fan blog about the game Noita. I'm not great at the game; I just enjoy dying in novel ways, then sharing my photos of my trips, in the manner of an immortal tourist.

I think the thing where every pixel has a job might be what makes that atmosphere happen. A single acid pixel can melt a bit of rock, which can then make something fall down, so it just feels really absorbing. It's a great place to hang out!
But yeah, somehow I have never tried just diving straight down as fast as I can. It sounds like you've found it won't get you all the way to the end, but it sounds thrilling, so I'll give that a shot sometime.

Yeah, if you can get a real good drill build going you can really sort of eliminate entirely the question of "walls" or "floors" and move downward pretty aggressively as long as you're a bit careful near the temples. You can't outrun trouble entirely but you sure can get a head start.

I've resigned myself to the fact I'll never again get as far in Noita as when I had a thing that teleported me when I took damage, because the place where I would stop taking damage and therefore stop teleporting? the end of each level.
