Stoplight Stories
26 tales, each starting with a letter of the alphabet, each written in one sitting.

From 2006-2008. I kept a blog (at that time, we called them "online diaries"), and I set myself the task of writing fiction on a regular basis. I gave myself an assignment: 26 stories, each starting with the next letter of the alphabet, and each written in a single sitting.

The result was "Stoplight Stories," which I self-published in order to get the binding. Now that Lulu allows me to distribute this as an e-book for free, I figured I'd put it up here on Projects for any MeFite who'd like to read them.

Some of them I still like, and some of them really look like assignments I gave myself when I was still learning how to write. Still, it's free!

I'm very excited as I loved them when you originally did them! Thanks for sharing with us.

I'm about a third of the way through and I'm really, really enjoying these! If these feel like assignments or training to you, I am super curious to see what you've written since then.

jessypie, I now focus mainly on playwriting, which is my true writing love. A production of my newest play goes up this December in Massachusetts.

I thought these were from a lot longer ago; seems like forever. Huh. I bought two copies back in the day, and still flip through occasionally to read a few stories.
