THUNDER SOUL at more film festivals
I have discussed THUNDER SOUL on MeFi Projects previously when we were premiering at SXSW. The documentary is about the Kashmere Stage Band, the greatest high-school funk band of all time. The film tells the band's amazing story in the 1970s, and follows the band members in the present day as they come back together again to play a reunion concert for their incredible band leader Conrad "Prof" Johnson. I just wanted to let MetaFilter know that we will be screening at the Edinburgh Film Festival, the Seattle Film Festival, and the Los Angeles Film Festival in the upcoming month in case any of you are able to come to the screenings.

THUNDER SOUL went on to win Audience Awards at SXSW, Dallas International Film Festival, and Hot Docs. We have been getting some rave reviews.

We also just launched a Kickstarter campaign with some fun rewards to help raise money to bring the Kashmere Stage Band to Los Angeles to play a live concert after the June 26th outdoor screening of THUNDER SOUL at the Ford Amphitheater. This should be an amazing event, as it will be the first ever performance by the Kashmere Stage Band in Los Angeles.

Hey kcalder, is there any chance that this will get a bigger release in the future? I would love to see this but live nowhere near Edinburgh or Seattle or L.A.

Yes, we will be screening at other festivals in the near future, and doing wider theatrical and dvd distribution in the not-as-near future. Haven't worked out the details for that yet.
