The Venerable Bédé: an English-language resource focused on European comics
Initially thought of as a sort of online sidebar to a column I'm writing on bande dessinée (European comics, most commonly Franco-Belgian) for a North American comics magazine, this project just kept growing in scope and scale as I looked and looked for current, engaging English-language information on European comics and found that there just isn't much out there.
I'm providing all content myself at the moment (except for the podcast, which is co-hosted and engineered by Bryan Deemer), but I'm very interested in working with other contributors who have a love for the Ninth Art and strong English skills.
The site is obviously in its infancy, and -- as far as I can tell -- unique in its approach. There are other English-language resources about bédé out there, but they tend to be index sites or long single-page lists. At the moment, there isn't as much online as I'd like, but I'll soon be getting to longer-form pieces (articles and full-series reviews). For now, the capsule reviews give a pretty good indication of the flavour of writing that I'm aiming for overall.

I hadn't thought about that! Initially I think I'll keep focusing on print (I'm only one guy) but that's a good idea for branching out, especially if more contributors get involved.

Sweet. That would help with the availability issue too :)
