Music, Retro-gaming and Elsewhat Blog

VGR2016 is an ongoing 5-way blog envisioned as half a way for a bunch of UK-based friends to keep up, half an excuse to replay and review old video games, and half World Domination. The third half is the charm. We also feature both Music and Opinions.

What if Wordpress Was Your Boyfriend

So, a couple of friends and I read a blog called The Toast, and we love it an awful lot. But its web site was janky and slow, so we redesigned it. The new version of the site went live today, and we wrote a bunch of blog posts about how we did it. It was fun.

Oh Shit, I'm In Grad School

It's real. It's a thing. It's my webcomic, which I wisely named "Oh Shit, I'm In Grad School". I've been drawing comics as part of my grad work in Rhetoric and Writing (a subdiscipline of English that studies writing, the history of writing, the teaching of writing, writing that is awesome, and doesn't worry about literature) but they have all been photocopied print zines. As an installation I'm debuting at the Computers and Writing conference, I have started a webcomic version using Comicpress. [more inside]

Whale Shark Websites

Thanks to the advice of several MeFites, I've finally got round to building a site to show off my projects (how delightfully meta!), write about the interaction of the web and small business, and maybe drum up a little freelance WordPress work.
