Rock Scissor Paper Machine
This is a re-creation of the rock scissor paper gambling machines that used to be all around the streets of Seoul back in the 1990s.

I had a moment of nostalgia a little while ago while thinking of my early days living in Seoul and decided I wanted to re-create one of these little gambling machines. I found some pictures and videos online (apparently a few still exist), and designed it to look as similar to the real thing as possible (hence the weird typesetting and unevenness, that's what they really looked like!).

Along the way I learned that I could put javascript inside an SVG file, so I decided that I wanted to make an entire playable game inside a single image file. It also turns out that you can convert files into base 64 text, so I even managed to include the sounds in the file.

It isn't exactly fun, but I think it looks pretty close to the real thing, and sounds like the real thing (I stole the sounds from a video of someone playing the machine, shame on me).

It works best on computer, but will work on mobile devices although the buttons are a little small and the sound is a bit janky. I also released this in the google play store, but itch.io is probably the best place to use it.

Note: You have to click the coin slot to start. :)

I LOVE this!
It's missing the part where you trade in the medal coins for a small treat prize at the store ;)

Thank you! I actually considered building it out a bit more as nostalgia struck me, but I'm not sure if I will or not. I would also need a part where mom yells for wasting money hahaha. :))
