An alphabet of vintage Romance Comics for Valentines' Day
This is a Twitter thread of genuine old comics covers I threw together taking us all the way From All-True Romance via Negro Romance and Teen-age Temptations to Weird Love and beyond. Artists whose work you'll see include Frank Frazetta and Jack Kirby. [The Teen-age Temptations cover is quite violent, so be aware of that before you open it.]
As you'll see, I had to cheat a little in three or four cases, but really that's far fewer problems than I'd expected. In their 1950s and 1960s heyday, there were close to 150 romance comics titles on the stands, so if I had a bit more time to research, I might be able to complete the whole alphabet.
