Working Through Grief with Shrine Making
In July of 2017 my mother died after a long time being sick. She and I always had a tremulous relationship, and since the late 90's I've been her care taker on and off. I had a lot of feelings about her passing, so I worked through them making art.
I documented the process to share with those following my family page on Facebook. The process helped me. It brought its own closure. Now it's done. Good-bye, Mom.

Role: Artist
This is really lovely. Thank you for sharing this with us. If I can ask and you don't mind answering, do you have a special permanent place for it?

Right now it's sitting on the kitchen table because my son inspects it every morning and asks about his Mim.
