Beyond Flavortown - Mefites review Guy's American Kitchen & Bar
Beyond Flavortown - When the users of Metafilter found their website bombarded with negative reviews of the new Times Square eatery, they decided to shuffle on over and see for themselves what the fuss was about. We recorded their reactions.

I enjoyed this very much. Something about hearing MeFites talk makes me really happy.

By no means was I the most interesting person there. Kind of the opposite actually.

I did get to do the "2001 monkey" pose though

Well, the hell with you people!!! And the hell with the non-cool midwest I live in... I think the Ann Arbor mefite cohort should get their asses to Zingerman's and make your "Guy whatever whatever" meetup look lame....

yeah, that's what we should do, damn it...

And, who knew you people could actually talk, or left your keyboards and went out into the world for that matter.... nerds....

no, I'm not jealous, not a bit...well, maybe a little...

This was like the best wedding video ever.

Almost a month ago, I wrote this:

The only bad thing about the NY Times review is that I love the way it is written so much, I want to eat at the restaurant so that I can also enjoy it if it is accurate. I have the same reaction to Roger Ebert's 0-star reviews.

If this doesn't happen, I would like to request the NY Mefites have a meetup there and live tweet it.

And this turned out better than I could have ever imagined. (And I never have to eat there.)

Thanks.

[by the way, pretty much everybody there offered to either buy me stuff or let me share stuff; it was not for lack of MeFite generosity that I played it spare. thanks everyone for being awesome. you are all cool.]

This was like the best wedding video ever.

We need to start vlogging the Chicago meetups.

you need someone crazy enough to devote an entire day to editing it at the expense of human interaction or hygiene

We need to make this happen. Our awesomeness needs to be inflicted upon the world.

Was this shot on iPhone/smartphone? Nice work!

All of this was shot on griphus, rory, and I's smartphones. The realization that I can shoot Internet decent video on my phone ( MY PHONE ) has opened up a new world of stupid media possibilities.
