For Great Justice - My Justice of the Peace blog
I was elected justice of the peace in my small town in Vermont. I'm not official until February. I started a post-a-day blog about what's involved in being a Justice of the Peace, weddings, JP history, that sort of thing.

People can get married by Jessamyn? Gay married, even?

This is epic! We need to set up a secular Metafilter celebrant program or certification (like this one?) or something so that you can say "By the power invested in me by the community of MetaFilter, I now pronounce you..." Along with the state credentials, of course.

And a "mutual bannination ceremony" in lieu of annulments.

Should we now refer to you as Your Honor? Or your Modship?

THis is really neat and although not a citizen of Vermont, appreciate your willingness to serve your community!
