The Mosquito Crate: a CAPTCHA Exclusively for Spammers
This summer, our forums were inundated with spam. Lots and lots of spam. Because I can't mail the spammers a crate of mosquitos, I made a CAPTCHA that only they can see, and that can't possibly be answered correctly.

Feathers, photographed and scanned.
So I've been photographing and scanning feathers for a little over a year now. They're fascinating up close, and when printed over a foot tall reveal whole little universes. One problem...I'm running out of feathers! Mefites, I need your feathers! They will be photographed, scanned and then returned to you with a print.

Collaborative Jukebox
As promised, I have made available the source code for my Collaborative Jukebox project. This code will run a social website where visitors can upload music from their computer into a shared queue, which is then played in order for everyone at the same time.

The Daily Patdown: Your Daily Dose of Security Theater
Just launched a new photo blog about TSA patdowns. Seeing ordinary people treated like criminals is sad, disturbing, and -- surprisingly -- sometimes funny. If you are outraged by patdowns, please share this link via Twitter, Facebook, etc.

Gamefilter dot net
"So," I asks myself, "self: does the world need a Metafilter-like site dedicated to gaming?" The answer I got back was "Hell, yeah!" and Gamefilter is the result. It's the newest site in the burgeoning network of MefightClub websites, ripped off from inspired by Metafilter and fitting somewhere in between our more chatty private forum and the more long-form Full Glass Empty Clip group blog. You don't need to be a Mefight Club member to join in; registration is open to all.

Lanyrd - the social conference directory
My wife and I launched this site last week - we've been building it while travelling around Morocco on our honeymoon. Search or browse for conferences (mostly web / technology at the moment, but the site is rapidly growing outside its original niche). Sign in with Twitter and it will tell you about conferences your Twitter friends are attending or speaking at. You're also encouraged to build up your own speaker profile of conferences you have presented at or will be presenting in the future.

Fuck Lorem Ipsum
In my line of work, I have to do a lot of html mockups of website designs. I've been using Malevole's text generator instead of Lorem Ipsum boilerplate for years, but always yearned for a more feature-rich version - one that could insert tags and filter the sources of dummy text. I finally got around to making my own.

signal - quick and easy link blogging
My weekend project was to create a link blog application that would make it easy to share links with my friends through a bookmarklet. It's minimal in terms of features right now and the design is, um, spartan. But, y'know. Ship it. http://www.findsignal.com/jp

Parody "I'm Voting Tea Party" Shirts
The Tea Party might have a quasi-mainstream official platform, but it also seems to be a magnet for far right loonies, angry racists, borderline psychotics and those that are simply grossly misinformed. These shirts are for those fringe nutjobs that make the Tea Party rallies so much fun to read about. "Obama is right handed, just like Hitler. That's why I'm voting tea Party!"

Is it Real or Fake 3D?
Single-serving domain name with a simple objective: delineate Fake 3D films (i.e. 2D films upconverted to stereoscopic 3D in post-production) from Real 3D films (i.e. films shot/rendered natively in stereoscopic 3D). Don't get ripped off paying extra fees for an inauthentic 3D Experience.

TF2Brew
I am attempting to homebrew a beer for all of the classes in Team Fortress 2. I'm hoping to ship a box of them to the developers at Valve when the project is completed as a testament to my fandom. This is the blog where I document the planning, brewing, and tasting of those beers.

Submit a made up video game and I'll make your box art.
Every week, I ask the strangers of the internet to submit the title and short description of a video game that doesn't exist. I'll then draw the box art for someone's pretend game and post the results each Saturday. A semi-dorky blend of lulz-y photoshop practice and a heartfelt love for video games.

ThinkStank: Josh Millard's Bad Ideas
I have a lot of ideas. Most of them are pretty questionable, underdeveloped, or poorly-thought-out. ThinkStank is a blog where my ideas go to hang out. I even put some of them in action, like the WTF LOL OMFG flier and Always Be (Snow-)Cloning.

Steel Mouse Pads
It'll never work! But it does. This isn't steel with a plastic or teflon coating. This is unadulterated, hot-rolled, mild steel. It's worked into various shapes, finished smooth, burnished, and customized with your own mark, if desired. The final surface treatment enhances the function of optical and laser mice while reducing friction between the pad and mouse. The pad, over time, develops a patina that improves the feel and optical pick-up. Beyond the shapes offered, I can customize your pad design to whatever fits your desk, or imagination. Customization is encouraged.

The Guide to Moral Living in Examples
It is what it says on the tin. The Guide to Moral Living in Examples is a series of speculative fiction pieces. Each vignette attempts to entertain and educate the reader on how to avoid common moral pitfalls and presents the reader with a useful nugget of advice at the end of each story, such as "be on the lookout for Hideous Telepathic Space-faring Lizardmen in Mansuits at all job interviews, because if you don’t you may as well be a Hideous Telepathic Space-faring Lizardman in a Mansuit yourself."
