Inspired in part by these AskMe questions, and named by cashman, MetaKitchen lets you manage recipes you find online. Adding recipes is quick thanks to ingredient list parsing. Use tags and lists to organize your recipes. Any feedback here or on the forum would be welcome.

bunt cake: a webcomic thing
bunt cake is a new comic thing that I make out of baseball cards. It’s not about baseball, it's just literally made out of baseball cards. So if you like your childhood ephemera gone at with a pair of scissors and then recontextualized against random photographic backgrounds with dialogue juxtaposed there upon, this thing is right up your alley.

Food Network Audition Video
I got sucked into the current season of "The Next Food Network Star" and thought I could do just as well if not better than the current crop of contestants. Rather than leaving that thought where it was, I got up and decided to audition for real. This is the result. After a lot of planning, it was filmed in my garden yesterday. I learned iMovie overnight, and edited nearly an hour of footage down to the allowed three minutes. I've not submitted it yet, so I'd love your feedback!

Stay up late, make a difference. The Blogathon 2007 site is all-new, with super artwork by Ryan Estrada, and the usual merry band of hundreds of bloggers (250 as of this writing) signing up to blog 24 hours straight to raise money for their favorite charities. It's something to realize that we've been doing this since we had to explain what a blog was. This here's the gran'mama of online charity events. I hope you'll join us as a blogger, sponsor, or member of the cheering section.

The Centennial Project
Happy birthday Oklahoma! In honor of my homeland's 100th birthday later this year, I am posting two serialized first-person accounts of my family's journey into what would become the nation's 46th state, including my great-great-grandfather's efforts to make the 1891 Land Run and another relative's meticulous biographical history which extends as far back as the Civil War.
Both accounts were written mid-century and, to the best of my knowledge, have never been reproduced digitally. These personal accounts are combined with my own stories of growing up in Oklahoma as well as family pictures spanning 100 years of history in the state. Please join me for this experiment in ancestral discovery.

WCAG Samurai: Fixing Web accessibility
A secret cadre of friends and I have produced a set of corrections for the main international Web-accessibility guidelines, WCAG 1.0. These WCAG Samurai Errata were released last week and will be updated to a final version in about two more weeks.

Here in Japan it can be crazy expensive for companies to find new employees, so we made a simple job widget for with cheap, targeted listings for employers and good, clear commissions for bloggers. (Japanese language only at the moment)
