Fun with the iPhone accelerometer
A couple of days worth of reverse engineering, but it finally works.

What if FDR had been like GWB?
I got tired of right-wingers saying, “If the media had been as hard on FDR as they are on President Bush, we’d have lost World War II.” So I put together this short (2-minute) film to show what World War II would have been like if FDR really had been like GWB...

SFUMATO
This is a webzine I've created as a platform for writers and nonwriters I know, from which they can share true stories based on a new theme every two months. Three issues so far: "The Dignity of Labor" (current), "Forbidden Love", and "Tales of Revenge".

bunt cake: a webcomic thing
bunt cake is a new comic thing that I make out of baseball cards. It’s not about baseball, it's just literally made out of baseball cards. So if you like your childhood ephemera gone at with a pair of scissors and then recontextualized against random photographic backgrounds with dialogue juxtaposed there upon, this thing is right up your alley.

Food Network Audition Video
I got sucked into the current season of "The Next Food Network Star" and thought I could do just as well if not better than the current crop of contestants. Rather than leaving that thought where it was, I got up and decided to audition for real. This is the result. After a lot of planning, it was filmed in my garden yesterday. I learned iMovie overnight, and edited nearly an hour of footage down to the allowed three minutes. I've not submitted it yet, so I'd love your feedback!

52 Challenges in 52 Weeks
I decided to make a list of 52 challenges: little ways of improving myself and making a positive difference in my life and the life of others. I gave myself a week to do each challenge, and I am now starting week 4. You may recognize this link from this askmefi question.

New Lenticulations
For your enjoyment, ten new Lenticulations (Mojo, Body Paint, Man on the Street, Dibs, Bicyclist, Hand Truck, Prophet, Barbie, Dilophosaurus, Ernst Gauger), along with a shiny new page design, photo titles, and a custom URL. I also added a much-requested "about" section with instructions. Previously.

Blogathon 2007
Stay up late, make a difference. The Blogathon 2007 site is all-new, with super artwork by Ryan Estrada, and the usual merry band of hundreds of bloggers (250 as of this writing) signing up to blog 24 hours straight to raise money for their favorite charities. It's something to realize that we've been doing this since we had to explain what a blog was. This here's the gran'mama of online charity events. I hope you'll join us as a blogger, sponsor, or member of the cheering section.

The Centennial Project
Happy birthday Oklahoma! In honor of my homeland's 100th birthday later this year, I am posting two serialized first-person accounts of my family's journey into what would become the nation's 46th state, including my great-great-grandfather's efforts to make the 1891 Land Run and another relative's meticulous biographical history which extends as far back as the Civil War.

Both accounts were written mid-century and, to the best of my knowledge, have never been reproduced digitally. These personal accounts are combined with my own stories of growing up in Oklahoma as well as family pictures spanning 100 years of history in the state. Please join me for this experiment in ancestral discovery.

Combining ideas from therapists, mentors, and therapists with interface designers and programmers we are creating a supportive community where people can find and reach their goals. Share your expertise and get advice, track your progress, or create a survey for your friends to respond anonymously so you can find out what they really think.

Some of my favorite nostalgic myspace photos-- cute girls, pretty faces, twee kids, emo kids, folk punk kids, jewish kids, etc.. might be good for inspiration, fashion ideas, making friends (NOT for anything creepy please)

Here in Japan it can be crazy expensive for companies to find new employees, so we made a simple job widget for with cheap, targeted listings for employers and good, clear commissions for bloggers. (Japanese language only at the moment)
