Blog Migration and Redesign (5,000+ entries)
I've been making daily blog entries since July, 2002, and up until now... I've used my own home-grown solution. Today, I'm excited to say that I've officialy switched over to Movable Type, after successfully migrating all of my entries. Posting about a blog redesign here in Projects seems a little... weak to me, as it smacks of vanity. But I've put in a lot of work during the conversion, and I'm pretty proud of the results. Thanks to all the MeFites who helped me out, especially fooljay.

Mini Documentary on Wheelchair distribution in Nigeria
I'm just back from a trip to Nigeria where I made a 20 minute film on wheelchair donations by the Demeca Foundation to crippled persons. I followed the back story of a few of the individuals, and how they used the wheelchairs.

New Comic (in progress)
I'm currently working on my first non-autobiographical comic, called "I.M. Dead," a supernatural tale of death, love, computers, and an ancient, evil book. I've written it, and am periodically posting pages to comicspace as I finish them. This is my first attempt to do some real storytelling (autobiography doesn't really count, in my book...) and would like some feedback on how it works at that level.

Conferenceer: A Networking Site for SXSW
I've just launched Conferenceer, a networking site for the South By Southwest interactive conference starting at the end of the week. At the site, you can subscribe to panels via iCal, register and create a profile (with downloadable vcard), and create links to other people's profiles. My favorite features are little ones: when you sign up, you can opt to grab your profile information from a Flickr account, and if you include a website in your profile, Conferenceer will attempt to download your most recent blog posts for all to read. Enjoy the site, and see (some of) you this weekend!

Message Vault
Message Vault is a tool for creating and sharing encrypted messages - a single file (HTML/Javascript) that you save to your local PC (Mac, Win or Linux), then use a Web Browser to create, edit, and encrypt a message. It's a "Portable Self-decrypting Archive", written in HTML and Javascript. The one HTML file carries the encrypted message plus the code to encrypt/decrypt/edit it.

Zero to Superhero Paperback Edition
I'm so happy I could almost weep. In fact, I am weeping - crying like a little schoolgirl because my Zero to Superhero e-book has grown up to be a paperback. It's four years worth and 320 pages of the coolest mind and body improvement secrets I could find and filter. Pretend you care and buy a copy!

2007 SXSW Wiki
Since SXSW Interactive is all about users interacting with the web and information, and the SXSW site is anything *but* interactive, we thought -- what better way to let people interact with the conference live than by collaboratively working on a site about the conference and it's surroundings?

Dio Bach's Web Fun
My oldest site was looking ragged and sprawling. I've spent a while killing thousands of old and ugly pages and giving it a beating with the web 2.0 design book to make a crisp and clean new look site with added digital photography bit and easy access to photo posts in the new look digital galleries. Presented here is the new look blog launched this month.

Domain Log Book
Okay I own a lot of domains. Most of them have websites running on them, and I was having trouble keeping track of all of all them. Domain Log Book is the place for you to track all your domains, simply add them to your log book, and see their Google page rank, and Alexa traffic rank on one page.

Brad Sucks Digital Download Store
I wrote a digital download store for myself using Paypal for payment and Amazon S3 for cheap storage and bandwidth (you can see it here). I thought other artists might find it useful so I've released the source for free.

Spouse Notes
Spouse Notes is a project that collects notes written from one loved one to another. I thought it would be interesting to share the funny, embarrassing and bizarre messages that my wife writes to me.

My hope for Spouse Notes is to have an archive of awful pet names, Dear John letters and the like. More importantly, I wanted to find a way to preserve these special moments. Email seems to last forever these days, but the random, "Pick up the dog crap!" message scrawled on a post-it note is always permanently destroyed.

I understand that the idea of collecting personal/private missives isn't new or novel, but I do feel that Spouse Notes has a unique niche. Even if it only serves as a destination for collecting my wife's messages, the project is fun aside to my day-to-day work. I do, however, hope to collect more messages like this and this.

The site has received a few random submissions and I thought that perhaps the MeFi group might provide some meaningful feedback.

Black History Month Poster [PDF, 48k]
This is a poster I had created for an unnamed public university library to be displayed for the whole month of February. The communicative goal was to highlight the problem and present a call to action; in short—two races can both benefit with a little give and take. Please make good use of my creation for whatever you need; it's a bit large and is likely to require special printing (26.25" x 39.5"). The commissioner of the project had only said "make a poster," such vague terms could only bring failure as my poster was eventually vetoed "for being too provocative and too negative." Creative Commons License, attribution appreciated but not required. bitching, moaning and client war-stories are welcome :-)

Oscar Contest 2007
This is my fifth year running an Oscar pick 'em contest, and I always give away a custom sock monkey creation to the winner (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006). This year - in an attempt to top last year's gay sock monkey cowboys - the person who guesses best will receive a trio of Dream Monkeys.

Sea Level Rise Maps
I created this tool last year, but I've recently updated it. By popular demand, it's now possible to embed a flood map on your own web-site.
