I had the thought “What if a certain falling-blocks game asked you to clear today's date?” and decided to build it… in an original, legally-safe, non-infringing way. Each day of the week has its own theme (and music), and there’s an Arcade Mode.
I've always thought Hampster Dance looked a bit like a Space Invaders game andI finally built that idea. Cuban Boys spotted my dev thread and suggested including their novelty hit single Cognoscenti vs Intelligentsia, so you get a blast of that after the first wave.
Penga, a penguin physics game
I recently integrated Planck.js into a client's product and wanted to reuse that knowledge to make a fun game, so I picked an idea and tweeted along as I refined & built it. [more inside]
I wanted to make a simple webgame similar to those old Flash ones where you eat smaller fish & avoid bigger ones. A 'budget' of 1-1.5 days seemed sensible and I tweeted updates while building it.
The Kilobyte’s Gambit 1k chess game
I adapted an impressive 1.25KB chess engine to remove display code and get it down to 1024 bytes, then created a separate interface using pixel art of The Queen’s Gambit. It won’t win any tournaments, but if you’re a chess novice brace yourself for a challenge. [more inside]
