MeFi Post Recommendation Engine

Just finished building a content recommendation engine for MeFi using natural language processing and non-negative matrix factorization techniques! It produces a list of post recommendations based on a user history of posts, comments and favorites. It can also make recommendations based on a piece of text, so for example, you could paste a particular post and it will return a list of other posts that have some similar characteristics. I hope you enjoy playing around with it! Please let me know what you think. Here's more info in case you're interested (: https://github.com/tomasbielskis/metafilterpostrecommender

Counterfeit Content

My short, sorry stint in SEO was the strangest job I've ever had. I was asked to create hundreds of imaginary webmasters and write little "About Me" biographies of their lives for fake blogs that only Google's webcrawlers were meant to read. They gave me the site name, I wrote the bio, and a coworker added manipulated photos. I did this for many months. I began to get bored... and then I began to get weird.

YouTipIt

We've just launched the public beta version of a new rewarding service called YouTipIt. With YouTipIt you can reward others monetarily for their online work. We are completly independent, the only corporate link is PayPal, which handles the payment services for us. I'm posting this here for two reasons: A) I'd appreaciate any feedback whatsoever. We've been working on this for months, and I'm sure many of you out there can give us a fresh perspective on things. B) We are looking content creators of any kind, willing to try it out and add a Junket to their site. If you are content creator (we call them buskers) and you are not able to work our site, please drop us a line, and help us find out where we might be failing.
