We built a giant eagle pupper for Iceland's national day
This is the fifth large scale puppet we have built, and the first one done officially as a puppet making company. Custom designed wings, a completely novel neck mechanism, and literally thousands of laser cut feathers.
Dr Sketchy's Anti-Art School: The Documentary
in 2010 I (along with many others) were interviewed for a documentary on the formation of the world-wide life-drawing cabaret show I helped found. After two years on the festival circuit, it is now available for all and sundry on Vimeo. Interviews with Akynos, Gal Friday, Amber Ray, Molly Crabappple, and more. NSFWish video and audio. Directed by Peter Bolte (14 min)
Trabant #5, a zine about attending professional circus school
I just finished producing an 88-page zine about my experiences attending a nine-month professional circus training program last year. I've been performing circus since 2007 but recently went back to school for it. The zine describes my experiences training handstands, trapeze, etc. some 30 hours a week. Elation, discouragement, health challenges, self-care, the creation process. Things you may know nothing about (circus!) and everything about (feeling passionate about something). The zine also includes 20 handstand self-portraits. It's $3. [more inside]
