I've been making a lot of art over the last four years—oil painting, watercolor, stained glass, linocut blockprints, recently plotter drawings as well—and I've updated and revamped my art site to collect and organize the bulk of that existing work to be a central depot for ongoing work. I've been painting a lot lately, exploring in particular mathematical themes and especially variations on the Menger sponge. I'm proud of the progress I've made, and have built a simple site to show off my finished work: Art by Josh Millard.

I've also been writing about art process stuff on my blog, e.g. a step-by-step document of the execution of yesterday's new painting, Five Concentric Wireframe Cubes.

My art portfolio website is now using squarespace software and it's finally mobile friendly! I also changed the overall look, added tons of title/dimension/date information, and edited the navigation bar down for a more minimal and clean atmosphere. [more inside]

This is an early cut my friend and I did for an independent artist in New Zealand. She makes installation art. We both liked what she did and wanted to support her by making a video that comprises the process. Feedback welcomed.

I am an artist collaborating with a chemistry professor to create new polymer media for artists. I just finished two demo videos that highlight the unique properties and versatility of the media we've developed. The first is also linked in the title and covers the clay and the second covers the textural mediums.

I make artwork about the natural world; my most recent involves watercolor drawings of anole lizards and interactive live plant pedestals. I also have series of roadkill and dodo oil pastel drawings. As a bonus, I uploaded videos of students poking at the plants in the interactive pieces and saying things like, "I think we should light them on fire." And then doing so.

So I was perusing Ask MeFi one day, and someone asked about fractals. Being a fractalhead, I responded, they sent me the song, I loved it and decided to make them a music video. I used ArtMatic Pro, Studio Artist and FCPX, and this is the result.
