This year I participated in my first Open Studios event. It was the culmination of nearly four years of learning stained glass and the first time I've ever shown my work publically. In preparation for the event, I put together a website and my brother, a graphic designer, created a logo for my studio. In addition to glass, I brought along several pieces of my bicycle taxidermy. I created a couple of these years ago after seeing Picasso's Cabeza de Toro, but received quite a bit of encouragement to produce more for show. [more inside]

A super-simple webapp for keeping on top of bike maintenance jobs. Record your mileage weekly (or as often as you like) and it'll tell you how many miles you've done since you last cleaned your chain / changed your brake pads / checked your tyre pressure / etc. Free, no sign-up required - everything is done from a single web page. Comments/bugs/typos/suggestions welcome.

Still, I wonder what would happen if I duct-taped one of those little cameras to a spoke... I was motivated by sonascope's intriguing comment on my 808 car keys micro camera post, and here's the result: Bike 808. You may remember the AskMe describing the prick who gums bikes locked up outside of my apartment. In response to the demands of MeFites, emilyd22222 and I have created a blog to document our progress in tracking and capturing the one we now refer to as The Gum Bandit. We document gummings and strategic progress. There's opportunity for troubleshooting for technologically savvy Mefites, as well as some miscellany for fun.
