No Apologies Online Art Auction Sept 2019
An Art Auction that Fights for Abortion Rights. I was very involved in two social justice art auctions a few years back started by my friend Ann, and that felt a bit like doing something, so we have joined up again to do another online art auction, this time for abortion and reproductive rights.

For many months I have been trying to figure out a way I might make a small difference in the current world of rising fascism, particularly in the U.S. with its stunningly corrupt white nationalist assholes in power. Though of course there are many worthy causes in need of help we have chosen abortion rights for this auction.

Ann and I are visual artists with day jobs. We have already produced quite a lot of art for this auction, both paintings and drawings, ranging from portraits of inspiring women to odd, imaginary creatures. We hope to continue producing art for the auction right up to the Sept 8- Sept 15, 2019 auction date, and also expect to collect donations from some folks we know and maybe some we don't!

Donation information here.

Please also feel most free to offer suggestions, or ask questions about the auction. We are not experts! The last two auctions raised a couple thousand dollars each, and this time we're planning a bit more ahead and hope to do even better.

This is very far into the future. Is there some way on the online bidding platform or otherwise to get a reminder when it goes live?

In the unlikely event that I win, will you ship items to Canada? I realize we aren't exactly your target market but I really like the RBG painting.

I too would like a reminder when this goes live, if such a thing is possible. Thanks!

I am going to ask the mods if I can repost in September. And yes we will absolutely ship to Canada and most places overseas! We are putting $4 - $8 or so flat rate for shipping, and we will cover any difference if needed.

Even just bumping this one with a comment will help -- those of us who have posted here will see it pop back into our 'Recent Activity' -- at least assuming projects stay open that long? But I think they must, because as far as I know, things stay open either a month (MeFi), a year (AskMe) or forever (Music, FanFare) and it's been more than a month since this thread was opened.
