Evening.Camera: Fragments of my life from twilight
I'm a photographer. I wanted to make more, better pictures, so I started going out a couple of evenings a week with my camera. I've found myself drawn to what I've pompously called "liminal light", as artificial lights take over from the daytime. There's a blog post about the first 100 days of the project here.

Role: Photographer
So do you use a fast lens or long tripod exposure? Dominos has quite the "Nighthawks" visual and social balance! Thanks :).

I actually shoot almost exclusively* with a Fuji X100T, which has a 23mm f/2 lens. Most of the time it's wide open, and I'm pretty good at handholding down to ~1/15th of a second.
*With the exception of the images from Berlin, which I shot using a loaner X-Pro2 that I had on test that weekend.

These are great. I need to look at them more closely after work. You mention that you shoot from your hip sometimes which I think I can see in them (I'm not 'good at' art) but I'm wondering if others are taken from a fairly tall (or high or whatever you'd call it) position? I ask because many of these feel like the actual world to me and when I see pictures they often seem unreal. I've been thinking about it lately and it seems to be because I'm very tall so the world looks just a tiny bit different to me. For example, the classic shot over people's heads on a busy city sidewalk looks right to me, but I think it's supposed to look like a flyover view while 'standard' pictures often feel like I'm bending or sitting down to get the view, but likely they're often the natural viewpoint of the photographer.
