“…my joys and thee? the sparrow builds / herself a frightful ghost.”
Isaac Watts, known as the “Father of English Hymnody,” wrote words to dozens of well-loved hymns and carols, including Joy To The World and O God, Our Help In Ages Past. @watts_ebooks generates random hymn stanzas based on his complete works, with (mostly) correct rhyme and scansion and HIGHLY DUBIOUS theology! Yeah, figuring out how to make this sort of thing work was really what I was in it for. Getting a cute Twitter bot out of it was a nice bonus.
