Role: creator
Pretty much; more specifically it's network performance as seen by your game client. The game servers are hopefully well-provisioned but even so when you play sometimes the Internet drops packets and you see lag. Also your distance to the data center creates a certain amount of latency. The North American servers are on the west coast, for example, so east coasters play at about a 70ms disadvantage.

That's neat. Are there game event logs that could be overlaid with this?

Thanks! Unfortunately there are no game event logs, in particular nothing like a combat log. There are some unofficial game recorders like op.gg that could possibly be pressed in to service, but it'd be a huge amount of work.

This is so timely - my son is getting a PC for his birthday to play LOL at home and lag time is something we've been trying to figure out for different places in the house network and different servers. Thank you!
