Consulting Fees: A Guide for Independent Consultants now in print
First published in 2006 as a short ebook, Consulting Fees has turned into a hard copy print book. I originally wrote a blog post on what to charge as a consultant and it went viral in the indie consulting and freelance community. So, I expanded it and turned it into an ebook not long after. Due to demand from readers, I've now expanded the original ebook to cover more areas and taken it into print format. Consulting Fees covers how to set and get your rate, deal with sticky client situations, overcome objections to pricing, navigate emotional roadblocks to charging fees that reflect the value you offer and make the move to Solution-based Fees. Professionally written, edited and designed, Consulting Fees tries to take a kinder, gentler approach to helping people manage the world of pricing for consultants, freelancers and other service providers.
It is available in print format from Amazon, B&N, Powell's and other retailers and you can request it from your local bookstore too. (If you want the ebook, the version on Consultant Journal comes with goodies not available elsewhere.)
If you're looking for a print version and you're not in the US, you can check your country's Amazon and TheBookDepository.com to see which one has the better price when you take into account shipping. Or feel free to ask your local library to carry it - it's in the Ingram catalogue and you can grab the publishing info from the Amazon page, if you like.
Moving to a print version has been an exciting process for me and I appreciate all the Mefites who've shared information over the years. I lurk in a lot of publishing threads!
