Shape Note!
I finally got around to recording some arrangements of shape note tunes I've had kicking around my head for the last year. The first three are from a new book, The Shenandoah Harmony, a much-expanded update to Ananias Davisson's 1825 Supplement to the Kentucky Harmony. The last tune is from The Sacred Harp.

Additionally, I've recorded videos of the guitar arrangements:
  • ShH 157: Nuremburg
  • ShH 270: Tender-Hearted Christian
  • ShH 241: Sinner, Can You Hate the Savior
  • SH 162: Plenary

All proceeds from the album (and indeed the whole bandcamp site) will be donated to the Kay Lasante free clinic outside Port au Prince, Haiti. The clinic is Haitian-run but was set up by the same folks who founded the House of Grace Catholic Worker free clinic in Kensington, Philadelphia-- a clinic I hold dear and one that has been more than formative in my medical education.

Great job. Especially enjoyed Sinner, Can You Hate the Savior.

Lovely. I really enjoy the gentleness you've brought to these tunes.
