The Trailer Home Podcast
A podcast and blog about movies and movie trailers.

Each episode includes trailer reviews, a movie review, our 'picks of the week,' and general movie talk.

We're still getting our feet wet with this project, but it's been a fun distraction from real work.

Cool. I like the idea of a blog of just movie trailers.

I like the title. I listened to episode five.

I enjoyed the way you cut a couple of snippets of audio together to give the listener an aural idea of what the trailer's about.

If you're looking for feedback, I would say the podcast is weakest when people are talking about films they haven't seen, but could have. In other words:

Speculation about trailers: fun!

Speculation about The Avengers: less fun! Even though BK acknowledges he probably shouldn't talk about something he hasn't seen, he does so after several minutes talking about something he hasn't seen. Similarly, two guys talked for several minutes about 1995's Judge Dredd and how they hadn't seen it, but... (talk talk talk), and then it turned out the third guy had seen it. He's the guy I want to hear from first, not last.

Also, it seemed like several of the guys came in unprepared. I don't know if this is a regular thing for you, but it would make me hesitate before listening to another episode.

My favourite part was the recommendations. Each of you clearly had planned what you were going to say and why you liked that movie/show, and it came across well. I also liked how Cody (I think? sorry, I had trouble following who was whom) not only talked about the movie he liked, but also compared it to a similar movie and explained why his recommended film was better. Good stuff.

Good luck with it!

Thanks for the feedback.. I agree that less speculation about films we haven't seen would be a good thing. Thanks for listening!

I too love the idea of a trailer-specific podcast, but this suffers a little bit for me by sounding a hint too amateur. I think y'all will find your groove, but I'd find a hook for each episode and I agree with Georgina that you shouldn't discuss movies you haven't seen but could have.

Yeah, we're pretty much just trying to have fun.. if that makes us sound less professional, that's ok. Hopefully we can keep it informal and also worth listening to (we're big hits with our moms).

starman, if that's the case, I fear my comments were too critical. Sorry!

Duncan asking people to rate you in iTunes made me think you were aiming for that "professional but lively" sweet spot, and I responded accordingly. If you're mostly just wanting to have fun, then keep on keeping on.
