Scoobert and Barb's Inconsequential Adventures
The first in an ongoing series of cartoons I have animated on the Nintendo DS Lite. The cartoon follows hapless Baltimore residents, Scoobert and Barb, and features original music, art and story. I hope you enjoy it, it was quite fun to make.
There's more to come.

Role: musician, artist, writer
Wow, this is great! Nice work! What software did you use to make this? I'm inspired.

I used a homebrew program called Animanatee for Nintendo DS Lite that allows you to draw directly on the screen, it's pretty amazing. Once your animation is done you can export it as AVI.
I then chromakeyed in all the characters to a hodgepodge of backgrounds I filmed, drew by hand or animated in Animanatee. Everything was edited in After Effects.
It's all pretty simple actually. I haven't seen anyone use Animanatee to the extent that I have, but I would love to see what someone more capable could produce.

Here's the program, nowadays you can buy a DS Lite off Craigslist for about 40 bucks, then you need to get an R4 cartridge which is about 10 bucks and you're in action.
