Stand up for Wisconsin: A map of solidarity rallies all over the country
This is a map and list of events, rallies and protests related to the opposition to Scott Walker's budget bill in Wisconsin and in support of unions all over the country. It came about because I couldn't find a single, quick source for what was going on in my area. Right now it's a manually updated Google spreadsheet that's periodically (manually) fed into a batchgeo map, but I hope to implement some of the suggestions offered in this askme. I wanted to wait to post this until it was prettier, but time is of the essence and I'd like to get it out there ASAP.

There's a search box in the upper right of the map to find events nearest you. You can also click on the pins below the map to filter by date. Please add events! It's hard to keep up!

Thanks to lriG rorriM, Vibrissa, g.i.r., echo target, hellojed and Pronoiac for their help so far!

I just made a huge update right before this post was approved. Big thanks to echo target; it looked like a FrontPage nightmare before he got to it.

Some family illnesses have come up and I would really super duper appreciate any data entry help. I spent about an hour on it last night, but it's not enough. You can do this via the form on the site, or you can do it in spreadsheet format at http://is.gd/solidaritylist (add items to the Form Responses sheet only, the upcoming events tab will sort them automatically). Good sources of info:

SEIU - Wisconsin Recall efforts
MoveOn.org
WEAC
AFL-CIO (Also: We Are One events)
AFSCME - I know there's a long list on their site, but I can't find it at the moment
AFT Wisconsin
Wisconsin Wave
#wiunion and #standupOH searches on Twitter (Not sure what the hashtags are for other states)
Facebook events shared by your lefty friends

I would love to recognize people on the site, either by realname or username, with a link to your blog, web site, whatever (SFW only).

Thanks - this thing is getting a few hundred hits a day, mostly from FB and Twitter referrals, and I'd like it to be a reliable, consolidated source of info.
