Object Poems and Toy Boxes
I've always been fascinated by objects that have journeyed through time and the scars, patinas and even energies they appear to have acquired. At first I started collecting them, and then, as I would notice certain juxtapositions, I started combining them into assemblage artworks. I recently got my first art show of these artworks, and I'm proud to show them off here! (and now you can see where my nickname, extrabox comes from!)

Thank you for your kind comments!

As to the workspace - Ack! I think it's better left to the imagination!

What's He Building In There?

Making clay masks is one of my hobbies. I wanted to make boxes to put them all in, but only managed to make a few (time, money, rather be making masks taking me away). I also write bad poetry and intended to write a poem for each mask/box combo. Anyway, looking at these made me happy. They're cool. It neat to find others that dig the same things.

these remind me a touch of H. C. Westermann.

I like H.C. Westermann daisystomper - I saw a retrospective of his work back in 2002 at The Hirshhorn in D.C. that was really cool. Maybe some of it sunk into me.

And cjorgensen, I like the idea of actually writing a poem for some pieces. I might try that. I like to write.
