How a boy from Chicago became a reporter
This is a story I did for The San Fransisco Examiner's website, Examiner.com While I did spend only a few days writing it, I have been working my butt off for 10 years trying to land a writing gig at a paper. I have been photographing bands for 10 years and writing reviews for free, about 8 bands out of a few hundred have paid me for professional (well, you can see) promo stills and amazing live shots. I have shot The Police at Wrigley Field, Spoon, Metric, Buddy Guy and almost every local Chicago band. I have had a few pictures in the newspapers, but I have never been paid for use. It has been a long stubborn poverty filled road. I could use an intern! My favorite band you ask, that would be this one! (My ten and six year olds') Of the adult bands, I love Metric!
