Game New Wave: Video Games as Art
Ideally this is a blog that helps people understand the potential videogame's have to be artistic, evocative and intellectual.

This Blog is a place for me to brainstorm and share my ideas (and gripes) about the videogame industry and the burgeoning role of interactive media as an art form.

It is also a place for me to expound upon some of my philosophical, aesthetic, and technical ideas about what videogames can and should be (as opposed to what they are now).

Some of the graphic art is really wonderful, too. Where does the non-in-game graphic art come from?

Some of it is concept art, and a few of them are just really good examples of fan art.
Most of them came up on a google image search of the game title...

Anyway, Thanks! There's a lot I still have to learn too. It's kind of like a personal research project.

Cool. Commenting on the most recent post. think there's becoming a strong need for this kind of commentary out in the world.

Would debate the word potential on artistry think it's already present.

Agreed. I think the vast amounts of dreck make 'potential' a necessary qualifier though. At least for outside audiences...People outside of the gamer demographic think of halo as the pinnacle of interactive art, and leave it at that.

*(many gamers also feel that way about halo...sadly)
