The Good, The Bad and The Etsy
Love Etsy? Hate Etsy? Well, what do you know--me, too! So I created a blog to snark about it three times a day.

Listing LOLZ.
Dubious stuff listed for sale on-line. Many Etsy snarks, weird and sad things from local Craigslist equivalents, and, occasionally, bad food.

Raygun Gothic Rocketship: The Tomorrow That Never Was
Cohen introduced us and explained that Dialta [a noted pop-art historian] was the prime mover behind the latest Barris-Watford project, an illustrated history of what she called "American Streamlined Modern." Cohen called it "raygun Gothic." Their working title was The Airstream Futuropolis: The Tomorrow That Never Was. – William Gibson, The Gernsback Continuum
The RAYGUN GOTHIC ROCKETSHIP is an immersive rocket base environment consisting of a tall metal rocket connected via walkway to a taller gantry with a well-defined lighted perimeter. Participants can interactively explore the rocket's three interior chambers accessible through the bottom of the rocket and the top of the rocket via the gantry. Aesthetically the project will be done in a rococo retro-futurist vernacular between yesterday's tomorrow and the future that never was, a critical kitsch somewhere between The Moons of Mongo & Manga Nouveau.

The Most Serene Republic - The Old Forever New Things
This is the best album (...And the Ever Expanding Universe) I've heard all year from these Canadian indie rockers, and I'm determined to create a music video for each track. 3 down, 8 more to go. (Including the above) Also, Heavens to Purgatory, All of One is the Other.

Can I Feed My Dog...
We've all been there. You dropped a stick of celery on the floor, or a hard-boiled egg, or a big glob of mayonnaise. Your dog's eyes whipped open, and she made a bee-line for the mess. But wait, is it okay? Can dogs eat that? This website is intended to be a central crowd-managed database of all of the information currently available all over the Internet.

Markov nonsense generator for Twitter
Inspired by MarkovFilter, Twittov is a python script that produces nonsense from your Twitter history. You can either run the script yourself, or send any message to @twittov and he'll respond with nonsense. Disclaimer: If you message @twittov, he might take up to ~10 minutes to respond. If you haven't posted many tweets, he may give up and respond with a joke (or half a joke, as it may be).

PaintBook.ca -- a gallery for iPhone PaintBook art
A couple months ago I announced my iPhone vector drawing app PaintBook here on Projects. Version 2.5 dropped a few weeks ago, and includes built in support for uploading of artwork to a new dedicated site: PaintBook.ca. The site presently has over 370 public works of art (more every day), all contributed by PaintBook users drawing only on their iPhone & iPod touch screens.

Can I Marry Gay?
Gay marriage laws are getting complicated, so I created this site to help me keep track of it all. It simply looks up your location based on your IP address, and explains your local state laws related to gay marriage. Currently limited to the US.

3 Numbers for the iPhone: a traveler's multitool from the future of the past
Last weekend I went up into the attic to put away some papers, when I noticed this old wooden box behind a pile of National Geographics. I would have sworn that I’d never seen it before, but in fact it must have been there for ages, before we ever even moved in. The box was covered with thick dust when I found it. I brushed it off and carefully opened up the lid. Resting gently on top of its contents was an odd little note...

The Sound of Young America: The TV Pilot
I made this TV version of my public radio show with the good folks at Current. It features interviews with Patton Oswalt (Comedians of Comedy, King of Queens, Ratatouille), Ben Karlin (exec producer/head writer of The Daily Show & Colber) and Maria Bamford. Also: my dog Cocoa.

Sunlight music video
I recently finished a music video for the indie-pop band Harlem Shakes. The video combines my own hand-drawn animation and found 8mm film footage (mostly reels I randomly bought off ebay, without know what was on 'em).

140x140
I've started a Twitter account with one goal in mind: Creating the perfect account. So I'm writing 140 entries, each 140 chars exactly, while all entries regard one thing only: Twitter itself. This is an experiment in writing, user experience, social media theory, and useless fun. Check out 140x140. RT your support! :)

Social Media Mockery
Some content may be slightly not safe for work, or slightly offensive in a PG-13 sort of way. I'm not even sure what I hope to accomplish with this site. Some time ago I started beating up on marketers on twitter. I don't get them, and I really don't think they get the medium, so I heap abuse on them whenever I can. I know it's a quixotic quest, but I've been having fun doing it. It's also a bit cathartic to to se nd them a "direct message" with the puppypotpie URL in retaliation to their unsolicited DMs.
