Classic Cold War arcade games that never were, "reproduced" in HTML5
The early 1980s could have been a boom time for Cold War-themed arcade games. It wasn't, but what if it had been? On this website I'm using HTML5 to code up USA vs. USSR games that have that early 80s look and feel.

This project grew out of an earlier effort to create an HTML5 version of Pac-Man (see previously). I wanted to do some original work, but I really enjoy working with the early 80s arcade aesthetic. So on Joe1 (the website is named after the American nickname for the first Soviet atomic bomb) I've created a slate of games that have the same classic look, but that borrow from old Cold War themes. I've also created fictional back stories for the games I've created, as if they had actually been released.

So far I have a couple of maze shooters up there, as well as a vertical shooter (think Space Invaders meets Missile Command). I'm looking to add an Arkanoid/Breakout clone in the near future (though I'm also trying to learn ActionScript right now, so there may be delays).

Any and all feedback is much appreciated. Thanks!

Very cool waxpancake, thanks for the link! I hope they get more games up on the site to play.
