Fractals in your Mastodon feed

Benoit Mandelbot is a Mastodon bot that periodically toots a random, usually interesting and occasionally stunning image from around the Mandelbrot Set. The images are visible to non-subscribers so you can look at them even if you don't do Mastodon.

F_ract_l

I've been exploring and creating a lot of flame fractals recently - they seem to provide an endless universe of fantastic shapes and patterns. So I've started putting them all on a Tumblr. They make great desktop backgrounds, anyway.

MandelPlot, a web-based fractal generator

This web-based application will plot the Mandelbrot set, let you zoom in on different sections and link to them (e.g. here). It requires a recent HTML5-capable browser (Firefox and Chrome both work). Source code is here under an open-source license. The website is entirely static. All processing happens on the browser.

Petrified Flowers music video

So I was perusing Ask MeFi one day, and someone asked about fractals. Being a fractalhead, I responded, they sent me the song, I loved it and decided to make them a music video. I used ArtMatic Pro, Studio Artist and FCPX, and this is the result.
