Jabo’s Annual Halloween Cartoon 2023
It’s Halloween! And another of my annual bone-chilling cartoons; HALLO23, is now up and haunting the HTML. Guaranteed to make you shiver (or maybe just shake your head). As always enter at your own risk. But if it’s a real scare you’re looking for, you can just read today’s paper.

Halloween History Zines
What's the relationship between Samhain and Halloween? What sorts of divination games were played that night? Where did trick-or-treating come from? What about the Jack-o'-lantern? I have written two zines about the history of Halloween! They are published by Microcosm, or you can get PDFs on itch.io. [more inside]

Ha-Ha-Haunted House... of Comedy
Gothtober is an annual Halloween "advent calendar" with a different participant providing media or digital art for each day. My contribution dropped today, Gothtober 24 (there's no way for me to link directly to my piece, you have to scroll down and tap /click "24"). It's a silly animation of classic monsters performing at a comedy open mic night. Totally SFW. [more inside]

I made a celebratory Halloween world for the latest version of Terraria 1.4. It requires using a journey mode character.

Figured out how to accomplish Cyril Takayama's head drop illusion.
Around Halloween 2010 I saw Cyril Takayama's head drop illusion and made a bold promise to myself that I'd figure it out and wear it for our 2011 company Halloween costume contest. Throughout 2011 I pondered on it and eventually came up with a design. I implemented the design and various tweaks in the month leading up to Halloween. [more inside]
