For the last year, I've worked on Skittish, a weird space for virtual events and gatherings of all kinds, where everyone's a goofy-looking animal and you talk to others with spatial audio in a customizable browser-based 3D world. This map shows the flow of asylum seekers into industrialized countries between 2013 and 2016. The vertical bars represent a cumulative count of the total asylum applications. Germany leads with way with 1.4 million, followed by the U.S. with 460k. [more inside]

My new Tumblr art project is a response to recent revelations about massive government and corporate surveillance. I'm posting a series of images, each containing an anaglyph 3D picture of an anonymous model, and a QR-encoded, PGP-encrypted email message that I can't read. A group of other people are writing the messages to each other, and my site is the delivery mechanism. With red/cyan 3D glasses, you can see "through" the noise of each image and glimpse some of the depths beyond. But only the intended message recipient can decrypt the embedded text. [more inside]

I decided to quit my programming job at Google, start a small company, and write an app with my best friend Graham Bartram. As he's a top flag expert these days, the result was FlagWaver. Single-serving domain name with a simple objective: delineate Fake 3D films (i.e. 2D films upconverted to stereoscopic 3D in post-production) from Real 3D films (i.e. films shot/rendered natively in stereoscopic 3D). Don't get ripped off paying extra fees for an inauthentic 3D Experience.
