How British Are Your Teeth?
I took UK government dental survey data and created a fun way to compare your own teeth with the average for your age by inputting number of teeth, fillings, etc.
The survey only covered England, so it uses “England”/“English” when referring to data, but “British” was better/clearer for the title. Some linear interpolation is applied to age groups, and there’s a simple scoring system for arriving at the final result. So it’s not rigorous data journalism, but decent for a daft project.
It’s obviously playing on stereotypes about British teeth, but the results screen links to this study showing the US isn’t any better (which is why I couldn’t implement the original idea to position your teeth on UK-US spectrum).
