The Microphone Never Blinks
Metafilter elder statesman griphus and I discuss beloved 1990s sitcom Newsradio.

We do so despite the fact that at least one of us cannot remember anything else besides this TV show that happened in the 1990s. Complaints about the podcast go in the Complaint Box. (Yes, we know we're not the first to make a Newsradio podcast, but as griph put it, "Have you ever searched Westworld on any podcast app?")

I wouldn't say it was a "mega-hit sitcom", but it had a truly all-star cast (Dave Foley, Phil Hartman, Maura Tierney, Stephen Root, and, okay, Andy Dick) and was the best show about Radio to come after WKRP (and, in retrospect, the last).

Sounds like this podcast will be a cipher wrapped in an enigma, smothered in secret sauce.

Yesterday's post about the death of Harry Anderson led me down a YouTube rabbit hole of beloved sitcoms of yore...including Newsradio! I love it and I am looking forward to listening to this!

You should never doubt yourself for a minute, for I know that your monkey-strong bowels are girded with strength, like the loins of a dragon ribboned with fat and the opulence of buffalo … dung.

superfluousm, maybe you could also put up FanFare posts as you do each episode?
