The Mothership 2013
The Mothership, a Burning Man Mutant Vehicle covered in 4000 RGB LED lights. Ship design, questionable engineering and welding by Jon Zensius, lighting controllers, sketchy driving and programming by Bob Dow.

6 months ago it was just an idea, but somehow we pulled it off. The first time it was fully assembled and tested was 15 days ago at Burning Man. It ran beautifully.

it's a 1992 Toyota Tercel, cut in half and cantilever mounted to aluminum stage rigging towers, a steel cockpit that supports a 20foot diameter UFO.

The lights are individually addressable RGB LEDs. There are 4000 WS2811 pixels connected to 5 SanDevices e682 controllers and everything is sequenced by a piece of german lighting software called Madrix.
