I was disconnected by a foreign host eventually, and to be honest most of my own photo stream suffered from the translation. But it is super-cool anyway!

People are loving this. Nice trick sensing the terminal window's size.

Just curious, what are you using for the ASCII conversion? If you don't know about it, you may want to check out aalib; it might give you good results. The big trick they do is examining the shapes of letters to give some "subpixel" rendering. Ie, the letter P is good for a pixel that's mostly black but whose lower right corner is white. I wrote a grad class report on how it worked. Fair warning, this is all 10+ year old software; it will be cranky, and there may be something better that's come along since then.
