Love Etsy? Hate Etsy? Well, what do you know--me, too! So I created a blog to snark about it three times a day.

Ha, this hits the nail on the head for me. All web communities are odd in their own way, but I often think that Etsy throws up some particularly weird stuff.

the rightest thing you've done here, among many right things, is that you keep the snark down to short paragraphs. well done. overlong snark gets tiresome.

Not related, cjorgenson, though I did see that when I first came here to post my project. I started The Good, The Bad and The Etsy at the beginning of June. I did hold off on posting it for a few days, because I didn't want to seem like I was trying to jump on top of kmennie's post.

Not snarky enough, actually. I'd say that you save the snark for things that really deserve it (like that zombie pendant) and leave the things you like for another blog.

Otherwise, great idea for silly little blog.

I disagree: while the all-snark blogs can be fun, they can get boring, repetitive, and overly-negative after a while. I find the ones that I return to most are those that include a little bit of praise/positivity; the good listings in this really made me keep clicking back to the older posts.

Great concept, Jacquilynne, and your commentary is so witty and your taste good. And I like the approach of posting both good and bad items. I'll never get around to browsing on Etsy regularly, and I like feeling I'm seeing both the créme de la créme and the dregs.

Aww, I'm sad I had to miss out on this. Sounds like it could have been good! Too bad there are asses out there who take their crafts seriously enough to make death threats over a light-hearted blog. It really is a shame...
