Finding Our Way in the Gilded Age.
Tangemeenie's sophomore full-length release, "The Gilded Age" recently went on sale in a limited online-only release through the "Notes from a Gilded Cage" blog. Taking the DIY philosophy to its most logical extreme, the limited hand-numbered on-demand CD release was recorded, mixed, mastered, designed and even pressed to CD at home, using only a single desktop computer. But we don't think you'll notice the difference. "The Gilded Age" is also available for the next month as a free MP3 download.
This project explores the intersection of technology and the music industry, suggesting one extreme example of what truly independent, artist-centric approaches to music production and distribution might look like in the future.
More about our own "ghetto recording techniques" can be found here.
