Mutts Like Me
In his 7 Nov press conference, Barack Obama offhandedly used the phrase "mutts like me," a notion that resonates for many Americans. Most of us are mutts, and proud of it. This is a T-shirt design set in Gotham (the typeface used in the Obama campaign materials) with art derived from a picture of a friend's shelter dog.
There's something powerful about the USA's first black president—and first biracial president—referring to himself in this way, and in a way that emphasizes our commonality.
