"Don't Go Stop" stop motion (music) video
About a year ago I looked at my collection of push up toys and thought, "It wouldn't be that hard to do a stop motion animation video." I was about half right.

It took a six month gestation period and another 5 or 6 to build the sets. The actual shooting took a couple of days and the editing took a few more. It was shot with a PowerShot A620. I had some material assists from cortex and Secretariat as well.

Wow, that was great! The lo-fi-ness and the colorful-ness of the animation worked well with the song--and that was one trippy sludgy bouncy song. I'll have to listen moar! Good job y'all!

That stop motion is really cool. It looks like a lot of work, and that is some dedication to spend a year altogether on that. Nice.

Who is the flexing man in underwear on the Lazlo, Buddy video? I also like the singing to the flower.

Thanks all.

Corduroy, the flexing man is actually from an old Edison reel, along with the dancing women. I can't find much on the flexing man right now, but here's an interesting site about the women (flash required), one of whom is Loie Fuller, muse to late 19th century artists and scientists alike. Although if you want to just believe it's cortex, that would be funnier.

I'd be happy to spot folks some free tickets to THE GUN SHOW.

I love it! Damn, I've been thinking about doing something like this, as I too have a big collection of little toys and trinkets and such (I have the same skeleton as appears in your vid, sleepy pete!). Now if I do, it'll look like I stole yer idea!

f@m, I'm sure I ripped it off from somewhere (I've got about 60 push up toys or so and after that VW commercial way back when, which is a great commercial, I got the skeleton as a gift--twice actually).

Corduroy, I finally found out that the strongman is Eugen Sandow, the "father of modern bodybuilding". Sorry I couldn't remember that before.

that VW commercial way back when...

Ha! And there it is indeed! Pretty cute commercial. Having not watched broadcast TV for the last 20 years or so, I'm occasionally reminded that there are things (even commercials) on it that are worth a view every now and again.

Having not watched broadcast TV for the last 20 years or so

LIAR!

I know you're not kidding. I really have grown prone to commercials now, I just remember that one because of the push up toy. Oh, and the Nick Drake VW one from around the same time that caused quite a stir among snobs, so if you haven't seen it, you should. I just remember thinking, "Ugh, now everyone will listen to Nick," and then thinking, "Wait, that's all he ever wanted anyway," and then finishing the actual commercial and thinking to myself it was probably the best 60 second explanation of Nick Drake ever (despite what the class warrior in me thought about kids riding in a VW convertible to a party). That poor, poor boy. Great, now I'm depressed.

Sorry for the derail.

Yep, that one was a good 'un too. And, typically, I hadn't seen it. Thanks, sleepy!
